Chuck Berry hit #! with a song filled with penis innuendo, A Beatles song was beamed into space, and Neil Young walked onto a stage for the first time!

Neil Young was only 17 years old when he walked onstage for the very first time on this night in 1963.  It was at a country club in Winnipeg, Canada, and the golfers left their cleats at the door. 

It would be a while later until Neil  would record such great albums as Harvest, and then  turn into the king of grunge.  He's the I-95 Artist Of The Day, so make sure that you listen for his great music as this Monday drags on, and on.

On this day in 1964, the Beatles hit #1 with I Want To Hold Your Hand here in the U.S.  The song would stay there for seven weeks, and it would be the first #1 song by a British band since The Tornadoes did it in 1962 with Telestar, a fabulous instrumentalDon't remember that song?  Let me refresh your memory, you must have heard it in an elevator somewhere.

More Beatles' history, this time from this day in 1967, when the band recorded Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.  The band was so impressed with the outcome that they decided it would be the theme for their next album.  They also devised the worldwide Summer Of Love at the same time.  Pretty impressive.

Years after becoming one of the pioneers of rock and roll with such great classics like Johnny B. Goode and No Particular Place To Go, it took a tune filled with penis innuendo to score Chuck Berry a #1 hit song.  After playing My Ding-a-Ling live for over twenty years, it would hit #1 on this day in 1972.  Various organizations with morals across the country attempted to have the song banned from the airwaves, but it didn't happen.  Middle school kids everywhere chuckled at the song by Chuck.

Call Me, the theme song from the movie American Gigolo by Blondie hit #1 on this day in 1980.  It would go on to become the #1 song of the year!  Love watching Debbie Harry, she's so f**kin' cool!

It was on this day in 2001 that the High Museum of Art in Atlanta had to take down a photograph display produced by Elton John because it contained pictures of nude men.  Several schools in the area had complained and cancelled trips to museum.  The collection of 380 photos was called an "exciting experience" by the museum's curator.

It was on this day in 2008 that NASA made Across The Universe by the Beatles the very first song ever to be beamed into outer space.  Forty years to the day earlier the song had been recorded.  Paul McCartney said, "Well done, Nasa. Send my love to the aliens. All the best, Paul."

Mike Campbell, the excellent guitarist for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers was born on this day in 1950!

Also celebrating a birthday today in Lisa Marie Presley.  Born in Memphis and now currently residing in England, The King's daughter is now 48.
