There's a reason that Paul McCartney and Wings are the I-95 Artist of the Day!  In 1974 the Band On The Run album hit #1, and stayed there for seven weeks.  Besides the title track, it also featured good stuff like Helen Wheels, Let Me Roll It and Jet!  The album cover featured British notables like actor Christoper Lee.

It was on this date in 1976 that Tina Turner had finally had enough and ended her tumultuous marriage with Ike.  The two were notoriously known for their fighting, but created some great music while doing so.

In 1986 Queen ventured over the border and was the first Western act to play in Eastern Europe since Louis Armstrong (What A Wonderful World) did so in 1964. The group rocked Budapest's Nepstadion, Hungary, part of the Communist Block and the concert was filmed.

In 2001, yet another original member of Lynyrd Skynyrd passed away.  Leon Wilkeson, 49, the bass player with the band had survived the plane crash in 1977, but couldn't make it through the night in a Florida hotel room. He was the fourth member of the group to die.
