On this date in 1954, Elvis Presley was heard on the radio for the very first time!  What do you think the song was?

Record producer Sam Phillips took the then 17 year-old's recording of "That's All Right" to a Memphis radio station, WHBQ DJ Dewey Phillips played the song a little after 9:30 that night and listeners began calling immediately to hear it again.

Believe it or not, on this date in 1967 Jimi Hendrix began a 29 show run with The Monkees.  It took only six shows for the promoter to figure out that this was a bad idea and another band aimed at the teen-age audience took over for Hendrix.

Houses of the Holy by Led Zeppelin entered the Billboard Hot 100 Album Chart on this date in 1973.  The cover art featured Stefan and Samantha Gates who were just 5 and 7 years old at the time sprawled over the rocks of Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland.  The cover was inspired by Arthur C. Clarke's novel Childhood's End.  Recently Stefan Gates said that he has never listened to Houses Of The Holy.
