I've seen three of them together, but never all four.

It was on this date in 1969 that David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, and Neil Young played the first of four nights at the Winterland Ballroom in San Francisco.

Led Zeppelin scored a #1 album with The Song Remains The Same on this date in 1976.  The album and movie were recorded at New York's Madison Square Garden in 1973. Yes, this is the movie where Robert Plant had his shirt open throughout the entire film.  After about an hour and a half of the flick you were wishing that he had worn a sweatshirt.

In 1976, Rod Stewart hit #1 with Tonight's The Night, a very sexy song.  So sexy that management here at the station won't let me quote a lyric from the  song during my "Name That Song" daily contest.  I mean Rod gets to say "Spread your wings and let me come inside," why can't I? I'm taking this matter to court, it's that important to me.  Well, maybe not.

On this date in 1981, U2 kicked off their 23 date October tour in Albany, New York. The band was really just starting out and Gloria was a big hit on the what was then new MTV.  I still think that it's one of their better songs, but what the hell do I know.  U2 is the I-95 Band Of The Day!

In 1982, the Australian band Men At Work started a 15-week run at #1 with their debut album, Business As Usual.  The band's songs were all over MTV, and hard to get out of your head, until you heard something more worthwhile, like the theme from Smokey and the Bandit.

On this date in 1990, a woman named Patricia Boughton filed a lawsuit against Rod Stewart claiming that a football he kicked into the crowd during a concert had ruptured a tendon in her middle finger, and as a result the injury had made sex between her and her husband difficult. Well DUH!  It also impeded her driving style too. It was eventually thrown out of court when Rod offered to have sex with her.

And on this date in the year 2000, the Beatles launched their official website, www.thebeatles.com.  It featured no gambling, no deals on shoes, and no porn. So, not many people went to it.
