Did he or did he not whip out Mr. Winky onstage?  It's an age old question that was never answered.

It was on this date in 1970 that Jim Morrison of the Doors was fined and sentenced to six months in jail after after allegedly exposed himself during a concert in Miami in 1969.

Morrison appealed the sentence and nothing was ever decided before he died in Paris in 1971.  Years later, Florida Governor Charlie Crist and the state’s clemency board agreed to pardon Morrison.

Over 500 photographs were submitted during the trial and none of them showed Morrison's exposed bratwurst.  Members of the band over the years have also said within various books and articles that they didn't see his bald headed yogurt slinger.  So, either Morrison had a very small one-eyed monster or he really didn't do it.

Do I have to stop with the penis slang now?

By the way, because Morrison may have whipped out his bologna pony, the Doors are the I-95 Band Of The Day.

In 1982, the Australian band Men At Work hit #1 with their song Who Can It Be Now, one of the early MTV staple videos.  Did we ever figure out who it was?

On this date in 1998 the world stood still, as all four members of Black Sabbath reunited for an appearance on the David Letterman show.  The band whipped into the familiar riff of Paranoid and everything went well.  Ozzy didn't say the F word once during the taping, and he didn't bite the head off of anything.

On this date in 2004 an arrest warrant was issued for Vince Neil after the Motley Crue frontman allegedly threw a punch and knocked a sound engineer unconscious.  During the gig in Dallas, Vince wanted more volume on his guitar, and apparently the guy running the sound system that his playing sucked, because he turned it down.

Grace Slick, one of the fine lead vocalists for the Jefferson Airplane was born on this date in 1939.  Grace rocked out great songs with the Airplane like Somebody To Love and White Rabbit.  In later years she would go on to record not so great songs with the Jefferson Starship like Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now and We Built This City.

Also celebrating a birthday today is Timothy B. Schmidt, bass player for the Eagles.  Timothy replaced the original bass player for the band, Randy Meisner.
