The Red Sox are going to the World Series for the third time in ten years!  Saturday night saw the Sox beat the Tigers 5-2, winning the ACLS and advancing to the Fall Classic!  Shane Victorino has a lot to do with the win by hitting a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh!

Victorino's home run reminds us of another historic home run.  This one by Carlton Fisk in the 1975 World Series!  With a little prodding by Carlton the ball stayed fair.  The Sox would win the game but would eventually lose the Series to the Cincinnati Reds.

Today is reality TV star Kim Kardashian's birthday.  Kim, along with her sisters, mother and stepfather have gained popularity from starring in "Keeping Up With The Kardashians".  Kim and rapper Kayne West recently had a baby girl together.

Manfred Mann, the musician, is 73 years old today, and a Happy Birthday to him!  Mann had one of the greatest party tunes of the 1960s, "Do Wah Diddy"!  Then in the 70s,  with Manfred Mann's Earth Band he would go on to record Bruce Springsteen's classic, "Blinded By The Light"!

It was on this date in 1957 that the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley would hit the number one spot on the charts with "Jailhouse Rock", and instantly, there was a whole lotta shakin' goin' on.

Steve Cropper, the legendary guitarist, is 72 today.  Steve is the guitarist for Booker T. & the MGs, remember the song Green Onions?  Steve was also in the Blues Brothers Band and movie, he's the tall lanky guitarist wearing sunglasses that would normally stand next to his buddy and bass player, the late Donald "Duck" Dunn.

One more birthday to tell you about, Elvin Bishop is 71 today! The southern rock blues guitarist teamed up with vocalist Micki Thomas for his biggest hit, "Fooled Around And Fell In Love"!
