Janis Joplin was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday.  Better late then never I guess.  Music czar Clive Davis was there, so was Kris Kristofferson.  Kristofferson wrote Me & Bobby McGee for Janis.  More than 43 years ago Joplin died of a heroin overdose.

One has to wonder what she would have been up to now a days.  Maybe she would have recorded a country album. Come to think of it, maybe it's better not to wonder.

On this date the first FM stereo broadcast was made.  Thus the FM convertor was born, and was found in shag rug interiored vans everywhere.

Today is Bryan Adams birthday, the Canadian singer songwriter is 54 today.  What was that eh?

Art Garfunkel is 72 today.  He was either Paul Simon's partner or a member of the Muppets, hard to remember.  Art sang the beautiful lead on "Bridge Over Troubled Water".

On this date in 1977, Ozzy Osbourne quit Black Sabbath.  Then he returned to the band a few weeks later.  He later quit again to begin a solo career.  Of course just this year Ozzy rejoined Black Sabbath and the band then went out on tour, at least Ozzy thinks they did.

On this date in 1966 The Monkees hit number one with "Last Train To Clarksville".  The song written by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart was the debut single for The Monkees, it was also one of the fist Vietnam war protest songs.
