Do Your Dog a Big Favor!

The Bar Harbor Police Department gets the award for reminding people about a very serious threat to pets, in a cute and humorous way.

It’s going to be hot and humid for the next few days and that means cars and trucks are a dangerous place for your dogs.

The Bar Harbor Police Department posted this picture on their Facebook page to remind people that it only takes minutes for your vehicle’s internal temperature to rise to deadly levels. The post read “don’t leave your animal in the car.”

For those who have to work outdoors, you’re reminded as well to hydrate properly, wear light colored clothing, and don’t over-exert yourself in the midday heat.

Folks with compromised respiratory systems should also take care over the next day or two.
