Sticky and sweet!  You have to love Maine maple syrup!

If you do, then this is your weekend as sugar-houses will be open for Maine Maple Syrup Sunday!

A press release from the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry tells us that every fourth Sunday in March, participating sugar-houses across the state will be open for demonstrations, sampling, tours and other fun family based activities!

According to the Maine Maple Producer's website, there are 97 sugar houses participating, and some are even open Saturday!  Most are located to the west of Bangor, make sure you check their ever so nice site for directions and other information!

Maine has around 1.4 million taps right about now, and folks across the state produced 545,000 gallons last year worth 17.4 million dollars!  That's a lot of ooey and gooey-ness, and we love it!
