As we all know, prescription drug abuse is running rampant in our area. It creates crime, it creates addicts, nothing good comes from it. One small thing that you can do to help is to safely discard your old medications.

Then, drop it off at one of the many collection points in the area, no questions will be asked.

When someone abuses prescription drugs, the majority of those drugs were obtained from family and friends, most without their knowledge. You'll feel good that no one will have the chance to abuse your old prescription drugs.  They'll never make their way to the streets.

Drop off hours this Saturday are from 10am to 2pm.  Drop off locations include just about every police agency in our area.  Bangor, Brewer, Newport, Old Town, Bucksport, Ellsworth, Belfast, the various Sheriff's Offices, etc.

If you can't make it this Saturday, most police agencies either have "drop-off" boxes somewhere around their entryway, or they will be more than happy to hold onto your old drugs until the next Drug Take Back Day.  No questions asked.
