An Eastbrook man faces several charges in connection with a Sunday afternoon robbery at the Rite Aid pharmacy on Union Street in Bangor. It was one of three robberies reported that day at pharmacies in the area.

JeffreyMacy, 46, was placed under arrest after police were able to stop his 1995 Pontiac Bonneville on the 18th tee box at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course. Police discovered Macy's car parked behind a maintenance shed at shortly before 4 p.m. Macy then attempted to flee the area near Webster Avenue  by driving onto the golf course, leading responding officers on a chase around the 17th and 18th fairways, at one point striking a police vehicle on the left front fender, according to a release from the Bangor Police Department.

The damage to the police vehicle, a Chevrolet Tahoe, is estimated at $2,500. Damage estimates to the golf course are unknown at this time.

Macy is being held a the Penobscot County Jail, charged with Class A Felony Robbery, Class B Felony Possession Schedule W Drug, Class C Felony Trafficking In Prison Contraband, Class C Felony Criminal Threatening, Class C Felony Aggravated Criminal Mischief, Misdemeanor Refusing to Submit to Arrest, Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol, Possession of Schedule W Drug, Refusing to Stop for Law Enforcement Officer, and a Warrant.
