Elderly Woman Killed In Wrong Way, Head-On Collision In Hampden

Police say an elderly woman was killed and four others were hurt in a head-on crash in Hampden Sunday night.

The accident on Route 2 was reported at about 6:30 p.m.

Police on Monday identified the deceased as Cynthia Esty, 67. Investigators said Esty was driving in the wrong direction when the wreck occurred.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four others suffered what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
