Jack Cosgrove stepping down as UMaine football coach is Maine's top sports story for 2015 according to sports fans who voted on our Sports Radio 92.9 The Ticket poll.

Cosgrove accepted an offer in November to step away as coach after more than two decades as the face of Black Bear football and move into an associate athletic director role. Defensive coordinator Joe Harasymiak was selected to be the new head coach. 35% of the voters pick this story as the top story of the year.

The new five-class setup for high school basketball in Maine was selected by 30% of voters.

The Washburn HS girls basketball team winning a state record 5th state title was selected by almost 12% of the voters.

The Skowhegan HS field hockey team winning a 15th consecutive regional title and a 13th state title was picked by 10% of the voters.
