If you find yourself unable to give away all of the candy you bought for trick-or-treating Monday night, or your kids have way too much, here are a few ways you can put it to good use. These organizations will gladly accept your unwanted candy — for a good cause!

  1. Treats for Troops (https://soldiersangels.org/TreatsForTroops.html) This program allows you to send sweets to soldiers.
  2. Operation Gratitude (https://www.operationgratitude.com) Deployed troops and first responders will be touched that you sent them your treats while they are working hard, far away from home.
  3. Operation Shoebox (http://www.operationshoebox.com/how-you-can-help/candy-donations/) This organization distributed candy on Halloween, Christmas and Easter to troops that are missing the festivities while away from home.
  4. Ronald McDonald House Charities (https://www.rmhc.org) Call your local chapter to find out rules on bringing your unopened Halloween candy for severely sick children and their families to enjoy.
