The newly formed Families First Community Center in Ellsworth will be holding a special dinner and dance this month in their efforts to create a transitional home for homeless families and their children.

The dinner and dance featuring music by the Juke Rockets Blues Band will happen on March 19th at the Elks Club, 317 High Street, Ellsworth, from 5-8 pm.  Plan on kicking up your heels to one of Maine's best bands, and a variety of home-cooked food, silent auction items, raffles and giveaways!

Tickets are $10 apiece or $25 for a family. Buy your tickets in advance at the Center's website, or buy them at the door.

According to their website, the Families First Community Center's " mission is to break the cycle of homelessness before it is passed down to the next generation by equipping families with children the skills they need to gain self-sufficiency and therefore decrease dependence on welfare."
