You may hear some roaring jets in the sky today.

F-15 fighter jets are scheduled to practice some maneuvers today (6/20) over parts of Maine, New Hampshire and their home state of Massachusetts. 104th Fighter Wing will be conducting scramble maneuvers from 2-4 this afternoon. They will also be practicing with the Civil Air Patrol.

These exercises are conducted to ensure that the Massachusetts Air National Guard are ready to protect the Northeast airspace from any airborne attack.

The 104th Fighter Wing was established in 1947 as the 131st Fighter Wing. They are stationed out of Barnes Air National Guard Base in Westfield, Massachusetts.
