First Day Of School – So Slow The Hell Down

Did you notice a difference in the amount of traffic this morning?  Most school systems in the area, including Bangor, Brewer, and Ellsworth began their school year today.

We live in the Bridge Hill area of Ellsworth, and this morning while attempting to pull out on the Bucksport Road/Route 1 we noticed a mile or so of stopped trafficbacked up at the light, both ways, towards Surry and Bucksport.  Then, on the way to Bangor, there was our favorite friend, the 15 MPH blinking amber light at the Dedham School on Route 1A.

So just a friendly reminder, be on the look out for kids in the road, don't pass stopped school buses, and be aware of college kids doing their homework while driving 70MPH.

Slow down, be observant, and everything should be cool. With any luck.
