Flick Chick Review ‘American Hustle’

Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that suck! Today Ma and I put on our best poker faces and headed into the Bangor Mall Cinemas to check out ‘American Hustle’.

This movie runs just over 2 hours and is considered a crime, drama, comedy. It is rated R PG-13 R for pervasive language, some sexual content and brief violence and stars: Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, Jennifer Lawrence

Summary:

This movie follows the fictional exploits of a master conman Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale) and his seductive partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) as they go from unprecedented success to being nabbed by the Feds and forced to participate in elaborate cons to set up politicians. Their overzealous FBI agent (Bradley Cooper) keeps escalating their plans until he puts them all in over their heads involved with very dangerous liaisons. Meanwhile, Irving's loose lipped and unruly wife Rosalyn (Jennifer Lawrence) may actually be the person who puts them in the most peril.

Review:

Not since ‘The Sting’ with Redford and Newman have I seen such a well-crafted story of deceit and misdirection. The writing of this movie is flawless. And as for the performances of this ensemble the same applies. Not one player missed their mark on character, likability or believability. Brilliant On a scale of 1-10 I am giving ‘American Hustle ‘a 10
