Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that suck! Today Ma and I donned our battle launched into Bangor Mall Cinema space dock with ‘Ender’s Game’

Ender's Game runs just under 2 hours. This film is classed in the genre of action, adventure, sci-fi and is Rated: PG-13 for some violence, sci-fi action and thematic material. The movie stars Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Abigail Breslin, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis

Summary: After the earth suffers a narrow victory over an alien race, closest resembling giant ants, the military begin recruiting children in the hopes of finding on who has the ability to think like the enemy enough to defeat them. They use gaming to test, recruit and train the children. Ender appears to have the skills to win but does he have the will to annihilate the enemy and will he choose to do that to save the earth?

Review: I did not read the book prior to seeing this film so I have taken it at face value.  Asa Butterfield does an admirable job of playing the lead in this film as he did in ‘Hugo’.   The supporting cast was also excellent. The story was intriguing and held my attention throughout. It raised some philosophical and moral questions that I thought would be beneficial for young people to think about and perhaps a few older people too. I did not anticipate the end, which for me is a gift I seldom get.  On a scale of 1-10 I’d give ‘Ender’s Game’ a 9.
