Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from  spending your hard earned money on movies that suck! Today Ma and set headed into Bangor Mall Cinema to blow the whistle on 'The Fifth Estate'

This movie runs approximately 2 hours is considered in the genre of  -  Biography | Drama | Thriller and is rated R for language and some violence. Starring Daniel Bruhl, Benedict Cumberbatch, Laura Linney, Stanley Tucci and David Thewlis

Summary:  Fifth Estate is based on real events surrounding the development of the whistle-blower site WikiLeaks.org.  It follows the relationship of the creator Julian Assange and his first volunteer and somewhat co-founder Daniel Berg.  The two embark on a quest to expose the deceptions and corruptions of power. However in that course ethical difficulties arise that divide the pair. Leaving the viewer to discern which of them is right.

Review: Although I am sure the story facts are somewhat exaggerated to build drama but I have to believe that most of the damning information they were said to have uncovered is true. That makes this film thought provoking to those of us who may have missed some of the actual timeline. The relationship between the two lead characters is very believable and both actors embody their roles well. And the moral question that has plagued the main stream media since we were limited to Gutenberg presses is made completely contemporary and fraught with new implications of responsible journalism vs the people’s right to know and how it effects their well-being.

On a scale of 1-10 for entertainment not accuracy I’d give ‘Fifth Estate’ a 9.
