Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that suck! Today Ma and I donned our space gear and rocketed into the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see ‘Gravity’
Gravity is rated PG 13 for disturbing images and brief strong language. This film runs approximately 90 min and is in the genre of Drama | Sci-Fi | Thriller Co-Written and directed by Alfonso Cuaron it stars: Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, Ed Harris |
Gravity follows the story of veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski (George Clooney ), newly recruited Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) and their shuttle team who are on a mission to repair some equipment in orbit above the earth. During their space walk and repairs the destruction of a Russian satellite sends debris their way that has devastation consequences and leaves the remaining crew fighting for their lives to somehow make it back to earth.
Gravity although a short film manages to keep you on the edge of your seat for almost the entire 90 minutes. George Clooney is always George Clooney to me but in this role his affable manner and dry wit fit captain Kowolski’s character perfectly. Sandra Bullocks is brilliant in the part of Ryan Stone and so aptly places the viewer in her shoes you actually start to experience the angst and acceptance along with her. Add to that scenes and special effects that completely engulf you and at the end of the movie make you sit back and think how’d they do that? Wow.
On a scale of 1 – 10, I give’ Gravity’ an 10
