Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Over the weekend I grabbed my badge and taser and headed to the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see 'Hot Pursuit’.

This is an action, comedy movie that runs about an hour and a half. This film is rated PG-13 for sexual content, violence, language and some drug material and stars Sofía Vergara, Reese Witherspoon, John Carroll Lynch, Michael Mosley, Robert Kazinsky.

Summary:

This movie follows a ne’er-do-well cop named Cooper (Reese Witherspoon) who has spent her life trying to live up to her father’s police reputation only to be a glorified paper pusher. Then fate takes a turn and she is assigned to accompany a drug lord’s wife (Sofia Vergara) to court to testify when it becomes apparent that bad cops had set her up and were counting on her to mess it up.

Review:

Seems as though I have seen too many attempts at Comedy of late and this is another.  Keeping it to 1 ½ hours was a stroke of brilliance. It strikes me that they transplanted Vergara’s TV character in this role and hoped that along with Witherspoon’s cuteness would carry the film.  However, plain and simple it lacks good writing, an original plot or any really funny moments. Granted I smiled a few times but that was about it. So on a scale of 1-10, I’m giving ‘Hot Pursuit’ a not so hot 6.

Show me everything playing right now at the Bangor Mall Cinemas
