Summary:

This movie follows a new incarnation of the Tom Clancy character Jack Ryan, as a young covert CIA analyst. Taking us from his roots the story begins with Ryan as a brilliant trained marine injured in combat recruited to do covert ops by the CIA. Dunring his time undercover he uncovers a Russian plot to crash the U.S. economy with a terrorist attack. This sets him into active duty and unknowingly brings his fiancé into the fray.

Review:

Over all I liked this film.  The plot though intricate was possible to follow and believable to a degree, although I would hope the US is not as vulnerable as this portrays.  Regardless, premise accepted Chris Pine and Kevin Costner do a great job reeling you in.  Kenneth Branagh plays an excellent villain and really seems to have great directing chops as well.  There were a few places the story dragged a little for me and some of the scenes were a little hard to accept if you really thought about what they were saying is possible. On a scale of 1-10 I am giving ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit‘an 8
