Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Over the weekend I unpacked my artillery, put on my bullet-proof vest and went to the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see ‘John Wick’.

This movie runs about an hour and a half, is an action thriller and is rated R for strong and bloody violence throughout, language and brief drug use . The film stars: Keanu Reeves, Adrianne Palicki, Willem Dafoe, Bridget Moynahan, Jason Isaacs

Summary:

John Wicks is a one time assassin for hire that retires to marry the woman he loves.  reluctantly the mob bosses lat him go.  After losing his wife to an illness and while he is trying to grieve her passing a Russian mob punk kid of a high powered mobster decides to take what isn't his from John without knowing who he is.  This stupidity unleashes the wrath of a very dangerous man at a very bad time and they know it.

Review:

This movie plays like a video game and is very geared to those who enjoy them.  It is also a great vehicle for Keanu Reeves.  Like the Matrix a lot of action and not much dialogue. The writers do a great job of getting you on his side early on and the honor among thieves, or in this case assassins, and the cleaning crews are good and sometimes light humored additions to the story. So on a scale of 1-10, I can only give ‘John Wicks’ an 9.
