Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Over the weekend grabbed my laser beam fountain pen and headed to the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see ‘Kingsmen: The Secret Service’.

This movie runs just about 2 hours and is an action, adventure, comedy. The film is rated R for sequences of strong violence, language and some sexual content. The film stars Colin Firth, Michael Caine, Taron Egerton, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Hamill

Summary:

Harry Hart (Colin Firth) is a member of an elite private secret service in England complete with Bond style gadgets and deadly force training. He is determined to repay a fallen comrade who had died saving his life by offering the man’s misguided son Eggsy (Taron Egerton) a chance to come up from life on the streets and getting in trouble with the law to being an agent in this secret society.  While in training a world threat put’s young Eggsy into action and the fate of the world lies in his hands but is he ready??

Review:

Overall I thought this movie was cleaver.  Samuel Jackson’s villain is funny and a definite threat with a reasonable idea for thinning the human herd. Colin Firth is very good as a Bond type character and the plot and story line is consistent and fast paced.  Great action in this film and good special effects with again a good sense of humor makes for a fun movie experience. So on a scale of 1-10, I’m giving ‘Kingsmen: The Secret Service’ an 8. Good show.

Show me everything playing right now at the Bangor Mall Cinemas
