Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Over the weekend I grabbed my passport and headed into the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see ‘No Escape’

This is an action, thriller that runs 1 hour and 43 minutes. The film is rated R for strong violence throughout, and for language and stars Owen Wilson, Lake Bell, Pierce Brosnan, Sterling Jerins and Spencer Garrett Summary:

“No Escape’ is the story of Jack and Annie Dwyer and their two children. After losing his business in the US Jack takes a job in Southeast Asia as an engineer for a water system company looking to clean up the country’s water system. Unfortunately, just as they arrive to their new life overseas a violent coup rises up in the country against all foreigners and a group of mass murdering militants take over the area trapping Jack and his family in the middle of it all.

Review:

‘No Escape’ is an incredibly violent film in a very violent time. Because of the times we live in with ISIS and other tragedies overseas I think what I felt was more horror from this film than action. If I got to categorize this film I'd call it more of a civilian/war movie than thriller. They intentionally do not name a country because it paints the residents as so blood thirsty. The acting was fine although in their attempt to keep the country anonymous sometimes the reasoning felt a little vague. Overall I spent most of the time with my hand over my mouth aghast at the bloodshed. It isn’t that is wasn’t well done it was purely the content that is questionable. So on a scale of 1 – 10 I’m giving ‘No Escape’ a 6.

Show me everything playing right now at the Bangor Mall Cinemas
