Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from  spending your hard earned money on movies that suck!

Now you See Me, runs a little under 2 hours and is rated PG-13 for language, some action and sexual content. This movie stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Raffalo, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Melanie Laurent, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine

It is the story of 4 street magicians who are recruited by a mysterious group/person to complete several spectacular feats of magic with the promise of gaining enlightenment into the next level of prestidigitation. Part of their new act is making money disappear from a banks and flow freely to their audiences.  As their marks begin to complain FBI agents, an Interpol detective, and a former magician now  debunker track the team of illusionists to reveal how they are doing this and why.

I had some high hopes for this movie.  I am very fond of pretty much all the actors it employs and I though the plot had potential. But this story just couldn’t get off the ground and left way too many details of the story so far-fetched it became too unrealistic to be enjoyable. Whether it was logistics, finances for the acts, seemingly limitless knowledge of the actual perpetrator, lack of obvious police work, and unrealistic overcomplicated ways to misdirect the authorities, it had them all and more but why go on. The movie itself couldn’t even decide if it was trying to be realistic or fantasy. Even the ending was contrived given the relationship between the FBI and Interpol agent.

On a 1 – 10 scale I’m giving this one a 4
