Flick Chick Review ‘Saving Mr. Banks’
Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that suck! Today Ma and I grabbed our talking umbrellas and headed into the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see ‘Saving Mr’ Banks’.
This movie runs about 2 hours and is considered a biography, comedy, drama. It is rated PG-13 for thematic elements including some unsettling images and stars Emma Thompson, Tom Hanks, Paul Giamatti,Collin Ferrill
This movie follows the story of author P. L. Travers through her childhood in Austrailia and the circumstances and relationships which helped her to develop her book book ‘Mary Poppins’ and her subsequent meeting and difficult collaboration with Walt Disney to bring it to the screen .
Review: Since I was a child Mary Poppins has always been one of my favorite films. So, to actually see and get to know the two people who brought it to life was fascinating. Both Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks do an excellent job of drawing you in and making you understand more about these two people, their lives and how different they seem to be than you would think possible in 2 hours. I loved this film and on a scale of 1-10 I’d give ‘Saving Mr. Banks’ a clear 10.
