Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Last night I grabbed a Boston Globe and headed into the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see 'Spotlight'

This is a historical, biography, drama film that runs 2 hours. This movie is rated R for sexual references and language stars Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber and Stanley Tucci

Summary:

This movie is based on the true story of how the Boston Globe’s Spotlight division uncovered the massive scandal of child molestation and cover-up within the local Catholic Archdiocese, shaking the entire Catholic Church and their community to its core.

Review:

This movies cast makes its performance quality a certainty so we’ll start there, well done. I lived in Boston during the time period covered in this film and I remember hearing about the incidences. However, not being a paper reader or Catholic I didn’t really focus in on all the details. Yesterday I had no choice and I was horrified. Reminded of two old sayings, “Absolute power corrupts absolutely” and “Those who forget history are destined to repeat it” No question the retelling of this story is jaw dropping but for the thousands and thousands of victims it should never be forgotten. And any leadership/group that claims to be representing God and uses that to hide behind while harming children should never go unchecked again. So on a scale of 1-10 I am giving 'Spotlight' an 9.

Show me everything playing right now at the Bangor Mall Cinemas
