Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that suck!
And into to darkness we go…
This Sci-fi, Action, Adventure film is rated PG-13 and runs 2:03 min. It is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine, Zachery Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Carl Urban, Simon Pegg and Anton Yelchin as our favorite crew members.
In the latest installment of the Star Trek reboot we find the new crew of the Enterprise in the new time line, heading back home, when they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
Review: Let me start by saying, for those of you who don’t know me yet, I am a Sci-fi junkie and a Star Trek fan from my youth. Coming from that angle, it is my opinion that J.J.Abrams is possibly one of the most brilliant directors this genre has ever seen. This movie is fantastically written and acted. The musical score should win an award for its contribution all on its own. Visually it is amazing, short of a few too many camera flares. It pays homage to so many wonderful moments from the original series and movies I can’t even tell you without spoiling the plot. Star Trek fans this is a must see. Sci-fi fans you won’t regret a penny, not even the price of popcorn. This is a movie that needs to be seen on the big screen. To the casual movie goer I still think you’ll love this show.
My Rating on Star Trek into Darkness is and enthusiastic 10.
