Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Last night I grabbed my 3D glasses and headed into the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see ‘Terminator Genisys’.

This is an action, adventure, sci-fi movie that runs two hours. The film is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and gunplay throughout, partial nudity and brief strong language and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, J.K. Simmons

Summary:

As in the very first Terminator movie the world has fallen to Skynet and the humans are mounting an attack under the leadership of John Connor. Realizing that the machines have created a time machine John decides to send Kyle Reese back to ensure the life of his mother Sarah Connor. However, as he is being swept into the time travel vortex he sees John being attacked by a machine. During the travel he begins having memories of a life he never had and once he arrives nothing is as he thought it would be so the question rises, “Is the mission still the same?

Review:

I have seen all of the Terminator movies to date and this film contains a little of all of them which is a nice touch. Now prepare yourself, much like the reboot of ‘Star Trek’ that took us into a new timeline, Terminator Genisys’ does the same. Available in 2 or 3D I saw the 3D version and it had some good 3D special effects if you like 3D. Like all movies that keep referring to an alternate timeline it can get a little confusing and I had some questions left in my mind about some of their situations and solutions.  The casting was very good and the ensemble had terrific chemistry. The modified character for Schwarzenegger worked great for me. The action was intense and pretty much nonstop from the off. Overall, I enjoyed this film but it did leave me with a few unanswered questions that settled in on me later on.   So on a scale of 1-10, I’m giving ‘Terminator Genisys’ an 8. Note: be sure to stay for the clip after the credits.

Show me everything playing right now at the Bangor Mall Cinemas
