Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that suck! Today Ma and I grabbed our briefcases and headed into Bangor Mall Cinema to meet with 'The Counselor'
The Counselor runs just under 2 hours and is in the genre of crime, drama, thriller and is rated R for graphic violence, some grisly images, strong sexual content and language. This movie stars: Michael Fassbender, Penélope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem, Brad Pitt and was directed by: Ridley Scott
Summary: An overreaching lawyer (Michael Fassbender) finds himself attempting to get out of debt and expand his life-style by funding a drug trafficking deal which winds up getting hijacked leaving he and his wife running for their lives from the predators of the drug trade.
Review: The overview of this movie for me was...when you venture into unknown waters not knowing what kind of predators live expect you may be eaten. This movie doesn't give you a lot of background on the characters and their motivations and there fore it was a little hard for me to engage and care about the end result for any of them. Instead this movie fits together more like a puzzle as you try to figure out which of our players is the largest predator in the pool. On a positive side it stuck to it's premise but did drag a bit for me. I would say overall it was O.K. for what it was trying to accomplish and on a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 7
