Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Last night I grabbed one of my youngest cousins and headed into the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see 'The Good Dinosaur'

This is an animated, adventure, comedy film that runs 1 hour and 40 minutes. This movie is rated PG for peril, action and thematic elements and stars the voices of Frances McDormand, Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn, Sam Elliot, Anna Paquin, Raymond Ochoa

Summary:

This is a ”what if” movie imagining what if the dinosaurs had survived instead of gone extinct and how it might have changed the hierarchy of the world. The film follow the story of a young Apatosaurus named Arlo. Unlike his brother and sister he is much smaller and afraid of most things. His family is farming dinosaurs and in an effort to prove himself he goes after a pest that is eating their grain stores and gets lost. In his trip home he makes a sort of pet of the pest he has been chasing, a human child he calls ‘Spot’

Review:

O.K. so the concept that is that the meteor event they suppose sent the dinosaurs into extinction didn’t happen and allowed to go on they would develop speech and become hunters and gathers while we, on the other hand, would bark and howl like dogs. It is a little out there. So you really need to just decide to roll with the Disney evolutionary flow here. That said, the film tackles the elementary story of little ones needing to be brave, the importance of family and the love between a boy and his pet…for what it is. Be prepared like all Disney movies one parent bites it and to my surprise there is an intoxication scene, kind of like in Dumbo. I chuckled a few time and teared up a few times and my movie partner who was 9 loved this movie. So on a scale of 1-10 Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc being 10’s I am giving ‘The Good Dinosaur’ an 8.

Show me everything playing right now at the Bangor Mall Cinemas
