Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Over the weekend I donned my T pin and headed into ‘Tomorrowland’ via the Bangor Mall Cinemas.

This is an action, adventure mystery movie that runs 2 hours, ten minutes. The film is PG for sequences of sci-fi action violence and peril, thematic elements, and language and stars George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Raffey Cassidy, Thomas Robinson, Britt Robertson.

Summary:

Casey Newton (Britt Robertson) has an optimistic view of the future and refuses to accept defeat. Because of these traits she is chosen to repair the future of the earth. This plunges her head long into the plans of a robot girl from Tomorrowland and makes her the cohort of an unwilling aged boy genius Frank Walker (George Cloony). The three set off to set things rights in back in Tomorrowland but are being hunted by an obstinate force that believes the future cannot be fixed.

Review:

As the latest Disney flick on the heels of Cinderella I had high hopes for Tomorrowland.  Unfortunately the story wanders almost endlessly and takes way too long to get to any kind of point.  Although the special effects were good, it’s Disney for crying out loud they should be.  Clooney and Robertson did respectable jobs, given the weakness of the script and plot. At the end of the movie they tried to give it an environmental theme but by then you don’t care and aren’t in the mood to be scolded either.  So on a scale of 1-10, I’m giving ‘Tomorrowland’ a 5.

Show me everything playing right now at the Bangor Mall Cinemas
