Flick Chick here once again in the pursuit of truth, justice and keeping you from spending your hard earned money on movies that don’t make the grade! Over the weekend grabbed my trail map and water bottle and headed to the Bangor Mall Cinemas to see 'Wild'

This movie runs just under two hours is a biography, drama and is rated R for sexual content, nudity, drug use, and language. The film stars Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Tom Sadoski, Gaby Hoffman, Kevin Rankin.

Summary:

Based on the memoir "Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail" written by Cheryl Strayed. She chronicles her 1,100-mile solo hike undertaken as a way to recover from the loss of her mother and a string of bad choices that followed. On the trail her determination is tested daily as to her unwillingness to fail and reacquaint herself with the person her mother thought her to be.

Review:

What an incredible story. Reese Witherspoon does an incredible job giving you the depth of this character, her struggles, torment and quiet pain to find herself again. The chemistry between she and Laura Dern was very believable as mother daughter. The pacing of this movie was good and at no point does it lag or wander giving the viewer a clear however sometimes painful look into the situation. In addition for anyone who has lost someone close to their heart Cheryl’s story is extremely relatable. On a scale of 1-10, I’m giving ‘Wild a 9.
Show me everything playing right now at the Bangor Mall Cinemas.
