'Get On Up' is first out of the August box office for a must see. 'Guardians of the Galaxy' looks kind of silly and I tend to find well done bio-pics to resonate more with me if they are well done, so the James Brown story will be my pick.

Next I will be turning up my nose at Megan Fox and the Turtles in the deep belief the Steven Spielberg and Helen Miren can pick a better script and a better story making 'The Hundred-Foot Journey' my next choice in August.

I was really tossed up on this week because between Hunger Games and Divergent I feel like the 'The Giver' has already been covered, on the other hand 'Expendable 3'...Really? So one more I am going to trust the actors who dependable choose good movies to be in.  In this case that would be Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges.  So for me 'The Giver' is my pick.

For the next week I find my self leaning away from the life and death drama 'If I Stay' and although 'Blind Side' one of my favorite films I am not thinking 'When The Game Stands Tall' either.  In the trailer for the new Sin City - A Dame To Kill For' is so visually fascinating I can't help but want to see it for myself.  Mom reminded me that I didn't really like the first 'Sin City' though so this one may be a bit of a gamble.

Finally 'As Is Above , So Is Below' is based on the real catacombs below Paris. The trailer reminds me a little of 'Flat-liners' from years ago. However even though I thought Flat-liners was a good enough movie I am hoping something else in more limited release might come out the week at the Bangor Mall Cinemas  because this looks very scary and I don't really like films shot in a hand held video style.
