Former "Mouseketeer" Annette Funicello has passed away at the age of 70.

Funicello, who became popular during the 1950s while on the television show "The Mickey Mouse Club", and then team with another teen hearthrob Frankie Avalon for a series of "beach movies", died today.

She had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1987 and became a spokeswoman for treatment of the chronic, often-debilitating disease of the central nervous system, died at Mercy Southwest Hospital in Bakersfield..
