Police say a man shot his three roommates to death last night before turning the gun on himself. A 4-year-old girl who also lived there was unharmed.

Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says police started receiving 911 calls around 8 o'clock Wednesday night, including one from a woman who had been shot. Oakland Police responded to a house on the Belgrade Road and found two women and two men, all dead from gunshot wounds.

Inside the house, police found 30-year-old Amanda Bragg, 29-year-old Michael Muzerolle, and 28-year-old Amy Derosby. The gunman has been identified as 42-year-old Hermon Derico. His body was found outside the home.  When the State Police Tactical Team entered the residence, they also found a 4-year-old girl, who was unharmed. The daughter of Bragg and Muzerolle is currently staying with relatives.

McCausland says evidence and information gathered at the scene indicates that Derico shot the three adults inside the residence and then went outside and shot himself. At this point, investigators don't have a motive for the shootings. In addition to Oakland and State Police, Kennebec Sheriff's deputies and officers from the Fairfield, Waterville, and Winslow Police Departments responded to the scene.
