I don’t think there is hardly a person left on the planet who has not been touched by cancer. If you are one who knows what I am talking about and would like that person to be honored or remembered in a beautiful way in a beautiful place then plan to be a part of the  14th annual Light The Way To A Cure Luminaria Evening. This event is put together each year by the Ybs in Bar Harbor who lost their friend Carol Dyer to cancer many years ago. The candlelight event on the Village Green is intended to celebrate cancer survivors and remembers those lost to the disease. The event will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 on the Bar Harbor Village Green from 7:00 to 10:00 PM.  Local musicians, David and Peter Lindquist, will provide live music throughout the event.

Since the event was started, it has raised over $75,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Their press release states that luminaria bags may be purchased in advance for $10 each by visiting barharboryb's webpage and downloading the form, or by picking up a form at local businesses. Bags may also be purchased the evening of the event. Please mail your completed forms with your check payable to the American Cancer Society to PO Box 258, Bar Harbor, ME 04609.

Funds raised through this event enables the American Cancer Society to finish the fight against cancer by investing in groundbreaking research; providing free, comprehensive information and support to those touched by cancer; and helping people reduce their cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.
