Yesterday was an exciting day for the crew of the Overtimer as they worked 11 miles out.

The U.S. Coast Guard Northeast reported via Twitter that they were called at approximately 2 p.m. this past Sunday afternoon that a fishing vessel that was heavily loaded with lobster traps was experiencing heavy seas and taking on water.  The two member crew had put on their survival suits and abandoned ship.

As Guard members from both Station Jonesport and Air Station Cape Cod responded, another fishing vessel, the Bad Behavior, also responded and scooped the two from the cold waters.  The Bad Behavior transported the two from the Overtimer to shore.

The U.S. Coast Guard will monitor the area for any pollution.
