Get Ready For Tough Knights At The Fort
Chivalry is not dead and sometimes it even still clanks when it walks. I have been to renaissance fairs but this looks like one of those on steroids. This Saturday is when the battle begins with Knights having armored combat at the 12th Annual Medieval Tournament in Prospect at the Fort.
Although we will not be cutting trees with herring you will experience medieval music playing around you while you take in all the arts and science displays and archery demonstration. The full schedule tentatively planned for the day:
On the Parade Ground
10:00-11:00 Rapier Duels & Fencing Melees
11:00-12:00 Live Music & Dance Presentation
12:00–1:00 Pas d’Armes Tournament of Knightly Combat, opened by our youth fighters
1:00-1:30 Fashion Show on the Parade Grounds
1:30:-2:15 Rapier Duels & Fencing Melees
2:15-3:00 Live Music & Dance Presentation
3:00-4:00 Pas d’Armes Tournament of Knightly Combat, opened by our youth fighters
Around the Fort
10:00-4:00 Arts & Science Exhibits in the Gun Bays (Casemates), Ballista Firing, Camping Pavilions (in front of fort)
Battery A - times will be listed on site
Thrown weapons demonstrations
Combat archery demonstrations
Regular Fort admission and a $5 event donation per vehicle requested.
