There are always things you have to do, but keeping chores to a minimum on the weekends is really important if you want to start enjoying weekends more in 2014.

In a new book about 'What Successful People Do On The Weekends' the author suggest that finishing chores shouldn't be central to your weekend because they often expand to fill available time. Instead, try to do a chore each day during the week. If that's not possible then set aside small windows of time during the weekend.

Also, she writes that planning for things like down time, doing something you enjoy whether getting outdoors or reading and again, if you need to relegation a limited time to chores.  Long term taking care of yourself in this way should increase your joy week by week.
