For the past two days, the talk of the internet has been the viral video above showing an eagle snatching up a baby in Montreal. First posted on Dec 18, the sensation has since racked up nearly 17 million hits, leaving many to wonder whether or not it was real or fake.

Well, it looks as though the naysayers are in high praises today, because it's been reported that the video is surely a hoax. Yesterday, a Montreal college student -- majoring in design -- admitted that he (along with two friends) made the video, saying, "Both the eagle and the kid were created in 3D animation and integrated into the film afterwards."

Naysayers on YouTube had pointed out that the eagle's wing vanishes at various points and that the breed of bird isn't even a golden eagle.

So at least we know our kids are safe from roving eagles. For now.
