After months of reading headlines like "Prepare For Electricity Rate Sticker Shock", CMP announced yesterday that their standard offer will actually be going down for its customers!

Beginning in March, Central Maine Power Customers who have chosen the company's standard offer will see the cost of juice go down by over 13% for the next ten months!

Company officials say that the change in cost is due to lower oil prices and was totally unexpected.

During the months prior to the announcement, various energy officials predicted that the standard offer would increase "into the double digits" due the shortage of natural gas in our area, the fuel that most power companies use to produce electricity.

Emera Maine customers will find out that company's standard offer today.
