A Gouldsboro couple has been charged with importing and selling heroin in Hancock County.

Chad Thibault, 46, and Roxie Albee, 40, are charnged with Unlawful Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Heroin).

The arrests came as part of ongoing drug enforcement efforts throughout Hancock County, according to a news release from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The investigation included undercover purchases of heroin from the Thibault and Albee.

At about 7 p.m. Monday, agents searched their single family home at 494 Main Street in Gouldsboro, and seized approximately 45 grams of heroin and $4,538 in suspected drug proceeds. The drugs had a street value of $13,500.

Thibault and Albee were arrested at the residence without incident.

Both were taken to Hancock County Jail where bail was set for Thibault at $2,500 cash and $1,500 for Albee.

The Department of Health and Human Services has been notified as an 11 year-old child was present at the residence during the investigation and the search.
