Dead & Company features two co-founders of the Grateful Dead — singer-guitarist Bob Weir and drummer Bill Kreutzmann — with drummer Mickey Hart, who joined the legendary San Francisco band in 1967. The other three members of Dead & Company are singer-guitarist John Mayer, keyboardist Jeff Chimenti and former Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge. Chimenti is also a member of Weir’s band RatDog.

According to the San Diego Union Tribune some ‘Deadheads’ had mixed feeling about the new tour after being told that the Farewell Tour was their last chance to see the band member together. Perhaps the original members fared a little too well because they soon after decided they could go some more. The new grouping of the band announced their intentions of another tour in August of last year. Keep in mind that was just one month after the supposed fifth and final of the reunited Grateful Dead’s Fare Thee Well farewell concerts, with guest performers by Chimenti, pianist-singer Bruce Hornsby and Phish guitarist-singer Trey Anastasio were done.

Ticket Liquidator shows Boston dates  to be Friday July 15 and Saturday July 16 at Fenway Park.
