A man from Hampden was killed Monday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Hermon.

Thomas Ellingwood, 47, was southbound in a silver 2001 PT Cruiser at about 2:43 p.m. when it traveled off the right side of the road and rolled over multiple times before coming to rest in a ditch, according to a release from the Maine State Police. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.

The weather was not a factor in the crash. Police do not believe another vehicle was involved in the accident, which remains under investigation.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call either Trooper Michael Johnston or Trooper Forrest Simpson at (207) 866-2121.
