This 38 year-old from Bangor holds the esteemed honor of being the best selling musical act from Maine.

Howie Day, who continues to tour extensively (He's in Texas this week), has sold more songs than any other artist from the Pine Tree State, according to Paste Magazine.  Yes, Day is on the same list as Michael Jackson, Alabama, Andy Williams and Madonna.

PasteMagazine.com had this to say about Howie Day: "One hit was all it took to make this Bangor native the best-selling musician from Maine. Do you know all the words to “Collide,” even if you don’t want to? The subconscious answer is an irrevocable yes."

"Collide" by Howie Day has been viewed on You Tube well over 47 million times, and the song itself has over 1.5 million downloads.

According to Wikipedia, Day signed his first record deal in 2002, and then would go on to score a gold record for his debut album "Stop All The World Now", and then a platinum single for "Collide."

Yes, Bangor has another very famous homegrown boy, and he as well is very talented and known worldwide.
