They ask that you consider an alternate route.

According to a company press release, "Workers will be installing new utility poles and anchors in the area between R.F. Jordan & Sons Construction Inc. on Water Street and Chester Jones Way on Bayside Road from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. over the four-week period."

Officials with Emera Maine ask that if you have to drive in that area to please be mindful of workers, plan ahead, allow extra time for your commute, and to exercise caution.

The final outcome will mean a more "reliable delivery of electricity to local customers as well as those on Mount Desert Island", according to the press release.
