Maine's little piece of paradise is currently being featured on two different episodes of "Island Life," a new house - hunting show on HGTV!

Within each episode, a couple from out of state explore three different properties located on Mount Desert Island.  At the end of the show the couple will choose which house they want, and can afford.

The couples were escorted to the properties by Erica Brooks of the Swan Agency in Bar Harbor.  The two episodes of Island Life began airing in January.

In an MDI Islander article, Erin Sax, who is the executive producer of the show said, "Every episode celebrates a family or couple who have decided to leave the chaos behind and live in a place where most people would dream of vacationing." She went on to say of MDI, "“It’s an extraordinary place, an incredibly beautiful place.”

One of the couples house hunting for an island life is from the Midwest, and they have aspirations to move to the destination of their childhood vacations.  The other couple is from Virginia and would like to leave the urban life behind.  The houses range in price from $300,000 to $500,000.

HGTV shows on Time Warner cable channel 160.  It's on channel 229 on DirecTV and 112 on the DISH Network.
